Thinking Like a Designer

If there was one common theme to my writing, it would probably be “becoming a better designer”, or more specifically “helping non-designers become better designers”.

So I think Hyperink chose a great title for their new eBook based on this blog, Thinking Like a Designer.

The eBook is part of their blog-to-book series, where they take an author’s best blog posts and adapt them for the eBook format. For example, here is Jeff Atwood’s eBook (of Coding Horror fame).

Of course this means if you’ve read every single post I wrote in here, you probably don’t need the book. But I doubt that’s the case for many people, and moreover the eBook provides a nice way to read it all offline or on your favorite device.

Also, did I mention it only costs $2.99?

I already wrote at length about eBooks, marketing, and all that stuff. One of the great things about the web is that it gives you the ability to take things into your own hands and sell your own products.

But I still think there’s a place for a company like Hyperink that’s kind of a more modern, lightweight version of a book publisher. They can help with things like formatting and promotion, and target niches that a traditional publisher would probably overlook.

So we’ll see how this turns out. But I’m always interested in trying out new ways to reach more people, so I’m pretty excited about it!
